Does the citizen have a chance anymore when we live in a time when politicians are controlled by big money?
I find it to be disturbing. It makes the average citizen feel powerless. How do you feel about it? Corporations heavily fund both the campaigns for the Republican Party AND the Democratic Party. Legislation is heavily affected by corporate money. Money does buy votes and Fortune 500 companies have no shortage of money. They throw millions of dollars around when it comes to getting their way on particular issues that affect their bottom line. But what is good for their bottom line is most certainly not always good for the common citizen. So, it's not even a partisan issue. But where does the common citizen (who has little money and little influence) stand nowadays? Should he/ she vote third party so their voice can be heard? Should he/ she demand that corporate money be entirely banned from campaigns? If so, how can that be done? Campaign finance reform still can't remove all corporate influence in politics. (You don't have to answer all of these questions. Just answer whatever question you like.)
