Have you had Gastric Byp Surgery?

Gastric lap banding has largely replaced the Roux-en-Y procedure. The surgical procedure itself is quite simple. The problem is the manner in which you must rigidly control your life in order for the surgery to work. When the surgery works it prolongs a person's life. Usually a person is not referred to see whether or not they are a candidate for bariatric surgery. Most insurance companies will pay for such surgery with a Body M Index above 40 kg/M2 or a BMI above 35 kg/M2 with a co-morbid condition such as hypertension or diabetes. After listening to the lecture however most people decide that they are not willing to follow such a rigid routine at this time in their lives. Bear in mind that the functional gastric pouch post-operatively is only 30 ml or one tablespoon. If I may be of further istance please let me know.
