If i get Divorce and we split everything dose that mean setelment as well?

ok so me and my wife got married and now going through that divorce stuff right and some times she say "i am going to take half of every thing" and then she say "she is not going to". well i have coustody of our daughter and my wife took of to MN and i live in S.D.. and i was wondering if they say the are going to take half of what i have or what not then is there a way i can tak half her setelment check cause i had what i had befor we got married and i am not going to just hand over half of what i got to her with out a fight so here is what i was woundering if she can take half my stuff is there any way to take half of the check. if so let me know if not well let me know as well and if you know any sit or place to find this let me know that two. thank you very much for your help
